RemarksNote by W.J.J.O. de Wilde, 1992: "This type specimen was identified by Foreman as Myristica cornutiflora Sinclair, and (Foreman, Handbooks Fl. Papua New Guinea, I, 1978, p. 190) the name M. gracilipes placed in synonomy of M. cornutiflora. I do not agree with this; also, a second collection of M. cornutiflora as conceived by Sinclair (Schodde 2291), I prefer to place in a new species (several collections known), Myristica plagiosperma, in sched." Isotype: BO
