RemarksWhat brought this particular specimen to my attention is that Carrizo Plain is substantially out of the normal range (Mojave Desert) of the species. I examined the collection location descriptions for other herbarium specimens collected by the same collector (SB Parish) held by Harvard University Herbaria having collection dates in the same range (April 1 - 10, 1914) as the A414475 specimen and they are all in Riverside, Imperial, and San Diego counties. This region where the collector was is some 200 miles from Carrizo Plain where the coordinates applied to the specimen indicate. I looked at a list of place names containing "Carrizo" for Riverside, Imperial, and San Diego counties and found that there is a Carrizo Creek and Carrizo Wash about 25 airline miles northwest of the city of El Centro. As such, I believe that the actual collection location for this specimen was actually near Carrizo Wash. A suggest revised specimen coordinate for A414475 is Lat. 32.914284, Lon. -115.871365; Carrizo Wash, Imperial County, California.—Ryan O'Dell, BLM, via email 29 Jul 2016
