Remarks[possibly collected in 1858 in Concord. Thoreau wrote about this plant in his Journal 11(2): 124. 25 Aug. 1858, "The Paspalum setaceum (ciliatifolium), my saw grass, which I have seen for some time, commonly cut off by the mowers, apparently in prime or past." On the 24th he wrote about haying along the river meadows.]
