Determination Stemonitis ferruginea Ehrenberg
Determined byArthur Lister
Determination Remarks [label name]
Annotation TextThis is the form of Stemonitis ferruginia which we have called var. microspora. It seems to be quite a distinct species from our common S. ferruginea which has spores 8 mu diam and yellow plasmodium and never attains the height of var microspora. The latter is not common with us and I have never seen the plasmodium. Dr. Rex thinks it is white, if so it is not doubt another species - Have you seen the plas. ?
