[Protologue: "Also abundant in the collection of 1851". In Smithsonian Contr. Knowl. 5(6): 90. 1853 Gray states, "Stony hills of the San Pedro and Pecos, Western Texas; May. (1231 bis.)" The "San Pedro" is the Devils River, Val Verde Co. The Pecos River is in Pecos Co., probably collected in June.]
