RemarksIt is hard to read the Reichenbach f. writing in the det label. Leslie Garay transcribed it as, on the same label, "histrionica", but this epithet has never been published in Dichaea. The closest names described by Reichenbach f. are Dichaea hystricina, based on a Wright collection from Cuba, and D. histrio, based on a Splitgerber collection. . The specimen on the Gray Herbarium sheet was collected by the "U. S. Exploring Expedition" in a "Rio (undecipherable)" locality. = Dichaea histrio Rchb. f., R. L. Dressler, 1998.
