["Maximowicz left Japan in February 1864, so he was not the collector, even though his name is on the label. It's most likely that the specimen was collected by Tschonoski (= Chonosuke Sugawa), his assistant, who continued to collect in Japan for many years after Maximowicz's departure." - D. E.
