| Remarks | Until coming here I had not found any other color in Arctic poppies but the usual bright yellow, but on one sunny rocky hill we found these flame colored poppies--there were even a few pure white ones with them. Like the yellow, they usually have four silky petals (occasionally five) with a yellow spot in the centre. The leaves, which all grow at the base of the slender stem, as well as the stem, and the seed pods, are protected by tiny hairs. Very faint poppy scent. The yellow poppies are very numerous. |
