Locality RemarksAnnotation penciled onto sheet: "Famous story about G. R. Vasey who was sent by his father to collect in the state of Washington. Instead he went to San Diego and "played around." He is said to have brought some specimens (probably from Orcutt) and put labels indicating they were from Washington keeping to the sense on his father - and of course in due time getting a number of species attributed to Washington that do not grow there." -- R.
