| Habitat | Rich woods and steep ravines with calcareous seepage swamps in bottoms due to marl deposits. Forest of Fagus grandifolia, Acer rubrum, Quercus michauxii, Carya sp., and scattered Fraxinus pennsylvanica. Seepages dominated by Taxodium, Acer rubrum & Lindera benzoin. Herb layer of Boehmeria cylindrica, Caltha palustris, Asarum canadense & Carex hummocks. Growing in roadside ditch in shade. |
