RemarksSlender palm 5 m. tall; internodes short, leaf scars conspicuous; leaves ca. 8, not wide spreading, ca. 8 feet long, petioles stem sheathing for ca. 50 cm., dark blue-green covered with pale gray scales, free petiole 50-70 cm. long, upper edges sharp, pinnae scattered, 46-50 to the leaf, margins thickened; a solitary broad divaricate branched panicle, lateral close under leaves, panicle 50 cm. long by 70 cm. braod when fruiting; ripe fruit red. = Ptychosperma salomonense Burret, det.
