Remarksc. old cane near base, with leafy branch flowering feebly (1-3 fls.) from 7 leaf axils. The small stem-prickles seen here and the length of the floral branch indicate this to be the basal part of the stem. The branch is a compromise between a leafy and a fruiting branch.
