HabitatMoist ground of gully, secondary scrub. Pine-Oak-Sweet gum forest on the drier slopes, cloud forest with Sycamore, Linden, tree ferns, etc. on the windward, N- and E- facing slopes. Much of the area cut and burned for crops, the secondary growth an extremely variable mixture of elements from both forests, tending toward dense scrub.
